WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UPTO

Dear Ministry Partner,
It has been two months since we last provided updates regarding our ministry as a family. We want you to know that our intention is not to remain silent, but rather to keep you informed about developments in our lives and work. When we do not communicate, there are typically two reasons: either we are engaged in ministry activities that make it challenging to allocate time for updates, or we are facing significant challenges that hinder our ability to communicate on time.
We have encountered both challenges and opportunities within our ministry, which has contributed to a delay in our communication. Firstly, several colleagues who served as full-time missionaries have resigned to pursue opportunities with other organizations, resulting in Ange and me becoming the sole missionary couple in our location of Diani. Their departure has created a significant gap in our operations, necessitating that we assume many of their previous responsibilities.
Despite these adjustments, we have continued to actively engage in various ministry activities, both on and off our property. We have participated in numerous initiatives that have allowed us to connect with the community and advance our mission. Below, we will go over some of the key engagements we've been involved in.
Partnership Camps
As a couple, we successfully coordinated the April camps in Diani, which included three collaborative initiatives. The first partnership was with Word of Life and URIELA Africa, resulting in the hosting of 145 campers. The second collaboration involved Grace Network, accommodating a total of 90 campers. Lastly, we partnered with How to Life, which attracted 65 campers. Each of these camps proved to be a significant achievement for all involved parties.
In addition to our successful April camps in Diani, we also organized satellite camps across the country, including one in Kabete. As part of the Eternity 5 Million initiative that took place in April, our field recorded impressive results: a total of 25,277 people were reached, resulting in 1,165 salvations and 449 dedications. These efforts further highlighted the impact of our collaborative initiatives and our commitment to making a difference in the community.
Glory be to God!
Pastors Connect and Training
Word of Life collaborated with a group of alumni to organize a pastors' conference at the AIC Church in Ramisi. This conference successfully convened 32 pastors and church leaders, who left the meeting feeling inspired and motivated. During the event, various books were distributed to the participants, which contributed to the overall impact of the gathering. In light of the positive outcomes from this meeting, we are pleased to announce plans for a subsequent conference in Kilifi County, scheduled to take place at the end of August 2025.
Weekly Youth Fellowship
Our weekly youth fellowship, commonly known as IGNITE, has been doing so well. We have covered a variety of engaging topics that resonate with our group. Each session has fostered meaningful conversations and connections among participants, making our fellowship a vibrant and nurturing space. The topics were:
Book of Ruth
Relationships
Man and God
Man and man
Man to himself
Finances
Part 1
God’s ownership and role.
Giving and Generosity.
Debt.
Part 2
Earning and Spending .
Wealth and Poverty.
Mindset and Trust.
Evangelism.
Discipleship.
Right now, we are in part 2 of our series on finances, and the enthusiasm has been incredible! Each week, young people are so engaged that they often don’t want to go back home because of how interesting and impactful the discussions are. We’ve delved into the above topics and each session is packed with practical advice and real-life applications. The interactive elements, like group activities and guest speakers, have also contributed to the vibrant atmosphere. It's heartening to see everyone so eager to learn and share their experiences. We can’t wait to see what the next sessions will bring!
School Ministry
The school ministry has faced several challenges, particularly during school breaks and various activities that disrupt our consistency. Nonetheless, we remain faithful in our commitment to visit and share God’s word with the students. It’s truly rewarding to see how much the students learn from our visits, and the joy on their faces when they see us in their school compounds is priceless.
We kindly ask for your prayers as we continue to minister every week. Please keep the teachers in your thoughts, especially those facing challenges from Muslim colleagues who pressure them to give up on Christian Unions in their schools.
We’re excited to share that we are partnering with schools in Msambweni Sub-County to help organize a rally scheduled for mid-July. We’ll keep you updated with more details as they develop! Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
Cycling to create awareness and connect
I'm part of a cycling club here in Diani that focuses on empowering the community and promoting fitness and awareness. Recently, we marked World Road Safety Awareness, and Word of Life Diani played a significant role in hosting the event. It was a fantastic occasion that brought together over 200 cyclists for a mass ride along the beautiful coastline near the ocean. Events like this not only encourage healthy living but also foster community spirit and raise awareness about road safety. It was great to see so many people come together for such an important cause!
Word of Life Kenya Alumni Connect 1&2
We had the privilege of participating in the Word of Life Alumni Connects in both Kabete and Diani, and it was truly humbling to witness the representation of around four generations at these gatherings. The testimonials shared by attendees were incredibly moving, as many recounted how their experiences at Word of Life camps had a profound impact on their lives. Each story highlighted personal encounters with Christ and how dedicating their lives to Jesus by the campfire transformed their journeys. It was a heartfelt celebration of faith and community, with everyone joyfully sharing their experiences.
Ange and I would appreciate the opportunity to hear from you regarding your current circumstances. Please feel free to reach out to us via our telephone numbers or email addresses. We would be pleased to connect through any of these methods, whether by phone, email, or video call. It would be a valuable chance to reconnect and potentially plan a visit for the purpose of engaging in ministry together, should it align with God's will. We look forward to your response.
In Him,
