Dear Ministry Partner, greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace be upon you. We are hoping that all is well with you. We would love to hear from you and also know how we can be praying for you. We take this opportunity to thank you once again for being part of our ministry. As a family, we have had a lot going on in terms of family, work, and ministry. Let’s dive right in and get to know how God has been using our work to change lives.
Our journey started in Diani on the second day of the year and our plan was to spend the rest of the month out of our home. We headed straight to Nairobi to attend Word of Life Kenya staff conference which was successful. The WOL-Kenya leadership team together with the staff members launched the new theme for the year dubbed “THRIVE” with two sub-themes Stewardship & Steadfastness. Our plan as a family is to help pastors and youth leaders across Kenya to thrive in their youth ministries.
After the conference we packed our bags and suitcases and headed to Uganda for an intense one-week classes for National Theological College & Graduate School (NTCGS) where we had three courses, Genesis, Discipleship and Church Planting. We are in our final year, and we thank God for the provision and the opportunity to learn as we prepare to go out and share with faithful men who will be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2). We took our ministry beyond borders where Ange and I got a chance to connect with Pastor Deogracious, who happened to be a missionary with Word of Life Uganda and also our classmate at NTCGS. We visited Nalugala Fellowship Bible Church, a church he planted along Entebbe Road. We did general clean-up, cleaned chairs and encouraged the youth who were preparing for the Sunday church service.

We attended the Support Raising Solutions (SRS) Bootcamp at Lugogo Baptist Church in Kampala and got a chance to learn more about how to build ministry partnerships. We met new people who are also raising support and we were encouraged a lot. We thank God for giving us such a platform that will facilitate us giving other people a chance to be part of our ministry.
Family News
Discipleship: Ange and I have decided to walk with David, a young man who is currently at the Bible Institute in Uganda. We hope this will be an opportunity for us to learn from one another as we grow spiritually in our walk with Christ.
Visits: We visited our friends, family and ministry partners while in Uganda. We also got a chance to visit my mother in the village where Ange got a chance to bond with her and to know her better.
Sponsorship: We have decided to walk with a young girl from our village whose name is Ruth Atieno who has been struggling with her education. She is in junior secondary, and she lacks school fees, shoes, bag and books. I managed to give her my backpack so that she can use it in the meantime as we find her the resources.
We thank God for,
Providing money and people who took us to the hospital when we both fell ill during the journey.
The journey mercies and for protection.
Enabling us attend classes, training and visiting family, friends and ministry partners.
Connecting us to our ministry partners.
Giving us the opportunity to serve Him and people.
Pray for,
More ministry opportunities to serve.
More people to join our ministry partnership.
Ange and I, as we discover and disciple young people.
Pastors and youth leaders we are connecting with and walking with in our ministry.
Rest of the journey as we plan to leave the village to go back home.
We are Dennis and Ange Owino Obiero, missionaries with Word of Life Kenya. We serve in the Local Church Support Ministry where we connect and equip youth pastors and leaders on how to have effective youth ministries. We use Bible Clubs, Sports and Camps as tools to build the next church. We also serve in the short-term Bible school called DTC, as well as youth camps that take place in April, August, and December. Thank you for following along with what God is doing through us in Kenya.
